As a result of the many Diamond Harbour residents who made/supported submissions on the sale of land, a halt (for how long is uncertain) has been confirmed by Council.

From today’s Press:
‘Two other large swathes of land in Diamond Harbour will not be sold either, after the local community opposed their sale. Rendall said residents spoke of their extensive work planting native trees and building walking tracks in the two properties – one of which is nearly 400,000sqm and the other is almost 12,000sqm.
The land is zoned for residential use, and residents had expressed concerned about development on the land.
“There is a strong desire from the local community for additional consultation before this land is approved for sale,” Rendall said.’
