As there is no formal ANZAC Service at Diamond Harbour this year some of our Fire Brigade members are planning to join the ANZAC commemoration at Lyttelton with Lyttelton Fire, Lyttelton St John and Lyttelton RSA in their service and parade at Lyttelton.
People can either go across on the 9am Ferry to Lyttelton with us or make their own way round to Lyttelton.
Fire Service members will wear uniform, medals and caps.
We will assemble at 0900 at Lyttelton Fire Station. (Those on the ferry will be at Lyttelton Fire Station around 0920. The Parade from Lyttelton Fire Station to Albion Square will begin about 0930.
There will be a service in Albion Square, morning tea at St John Ambulance Station, then refreshments at Lyttelton Fire Station
We could travel together on the 0900 Diamond Harbour Ferry. Diamond Harbour folk will make their own way down to the DH Wharf. Lyttelton have offered to assist those that are unable to walk from the Ferry to the Lyttelton Fire Station. Anyone needing a ride from Lyttelton Wharf to the Parade please contact me on 027 240 1515. People will be able to return to Diamond Harbour on the Ferry as and when they wish.
NOTE: The Ferry is sailing according to the Saturday Timetable.
