City Mission Basket
The church has a basket for non-perishable food and grocery items for the City Mission.
Many families are dependent on the support of agencies like the City Mission as jobs dwindle and money fails to stretch to meet basic outgoings, especially with COVID-19. We also collect Small Change for the Small Room, with the coins being spent on toiletries and personal hygiene items which are distributed by the City Mission and St Vincent de Paul. Finally, we collect general second-hand items. Generally, these are passed onto the Christchurch City Mission but we also have an Op Shop in the Little River end of the parish. Thank you for donations – especially clean clothing. Please note that electrical items cannot be accepted.

I can put you in touch with the local Camera club
I was wondering if you could help me. I am hoping to use one or two photos in a Christian autobiography I have written. It is currently being edited.
I’m seeking a clear, coloured photo of Diamond Harbour beach looking towards the wharf, moored yachts and Lyttleton with the sun sparkling on the water. If possible, I’d also love one that shows the old diving wharf that is no longer there; (only the tips of a few posts remain.) Any other stunning photos of Wreck Bay and Mt Evans, as viewed from Purau Ave side, – e.g. sunrises or beautiful reflections, would also be welcomed.
I have a number of photos I took when on holiday in the South Island but the lighting is not right. Our family used to go to Diamond Harbour often as our grandfather had a bach there when we were children. We loved it and have many priceless memories of our childhood experiences there.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. (0277818791)
With grateful thanks,
Ruth Corbett
