Diamond Harbour Library will be closed for two days from Thursday 25 – Friday 26 June for refurbishment work.
The work was scheduled to happen in May as part of Christchurch City Libraries’ 10 year refurbishment programme, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
The work includes updated fit-out of the reception area and an upgrade of the data and electrical wiring. The item return slot is also being altered.
Because the period of closure is so short, we don’t envision too much disruption to customers, so there will not be any Mobile Library provision at this stage. We’re unable to accept items being returned to the library’s returns bins during the closure, but they will be accepted at any other library in our network. The nearest alternative is Lyttelton Library.
Diamond Harbour Library will reopen as normal on Saturday 27 June at 10am.
